Any time a new fitness, fat loss or body transformation program is released, you can’t help but to ask yourself…

What makes this than any different than any other program, book or seminar that’s already out there?

Usually, the answer is “not much.”

But this week, something very unique and interesting was released: Tom Venuto’s new “Holy Grail system.”

a) Gain muscle without gaining fat (no bulking up, just lean muscle)
b) Lose fat without losing muscle
c) Gain muscle while losing fat at the same time (the “holy grail” of fitness goals)

As part of his new program release promotion, all week long Tom has been giving away 4 limited-time bonuses worth $114.80, but the offer ends tonite at midnight at:

Shocking Shoulder Workout - I Dare You to Try It

By Doberman Dan

Lets take a closer look at a technique called Triple Drop Pre-Exhaust training and how we can apply it to a shoulder workout.

Pre-exhaust involves using an isolation exercise immediately before a compound exercise to pre-fatigue the muscle without involving the secondary muscle groups. For example, to pre-exhaust the pecs you would do a set of pec-deck or lying dumbbell flyes to failure immediately followed by flat or incline bench press.

The idea is this: The pec-deck or flyes works the pecs without involving the delts or triceps. So although your pecs are fatigued, your delts and tris are fresh so you can further blast your pecs by doing a set of bench presses immediately after the pec-deck or flyes.

I like another technique that utilizes the pre-exhaust idea in a different manner. In this issue let's use shoulders for example. Pick an isolation exercise for the shoulders. I like side dumbbell lateral raises. If you have access to the nautilus side lateral machine then that's a good choice, too.

Select a weight that will allow you to complete 10 to 12 reps of the side lateral raises in good form with the last rep being the last one you can possibly complete without help. In other words, go to temporary muscular failure. Immediately reduce the weight approx. 30% and do another set without resting. Take that set to failure for however many reps you can complete. Again immediately reduce the weight approx. 30% and do a third set without resting. Take this third set to failure for however many reps you can complete.

Now rest about a minute and do a compound exercise for your shoulders. Let's use seated dumbbell presses for this example.

Your shoulders should be fairly fatigued if you performed the side lateral raises as intensely as I described.

Select a weight that allows you to complete 10 to 12 reps of the seated dumbbell press to temporary muscular failure. The weight you'll use will probably be significantly less than you normally use because of the pre-exhaust we did on the side lateral raises.

Now just like on the side lateral raises, complete your first set to failure then immediately reduce the weight approx. 30% and do a second set without resting. Again immediately reduce the weight approx. 30% and do a third set to failure without resting.

This is a pretty intense technique and should probably only be utilized very sporadically. In fact, I would recommend waiting at least 7 days before you train shoulders again after a session of Triple Drop Pre-Exhaust.

Get a Flu Shot, Get Cancer

Since this year the mainstream is pushing flu vaccine with the H1N1 and seasonal flu solutions combined, in an untested combination, consider that your risk is much greater.

Make sure that you understand what informed consent is and how to protect your choice to say no.

This is especially important for women who are pregnant, a.s last year's experiment led to many miscarriages and still births.
excerpt from FLU VACCINES AND THE RISK OF CANCER
"Much concern has been generated over the upcoming new swine flu H1N1 vaccines that are being rushed to market. Clinical trials will be short – less than three weeks – and the potential for the addition of toxic oil-in-water adjuvants to be added at the last minute to stretch the vaccine supply is disconcerting. However, the problems with flu shots go beyond current concerns. The new manufacturing process for flu shots, called cell-line technologies, are little understood and have the potential for serious, long term consequences."  Complete article
Remember that making sure your vitamin D level and vitamin C levels are adequate or higher, drinking adequate fluids, using good hand washing technique, getting good sleep, getting good nutrition - all are safer way s to stay flu free.

Dumbbell Exercises for Women to Tone Arms

By Mike Westerdal

The very nature of women's bodies makes them susceptible to sagging in certain areas-particularly the arms. And unfortunately for the ladies, this can start happening at a relatively young age. The good news is that there are ways to reduce and eliminate almost entirely, sagging in the arms. And the best part is, you don't need fancy or expensive equipment or even a gym membership-you can achieve your goals right in the comfort of your own home with just a few square feet of unobstructed space and a set of dumbbells.

In the world of exercise equipment, dumbbells are just about perfect-they're effective, versatile, inexpensive, easy-to-store, great for targeting specific areas, can be used by anyone regardless of skill or ability and can be used just about anywhere. You don't need to be able to lift heavy weights in order to tone up your arms. A maximum weight of 10 to 12 pounds will do. If you can, pick up a few different weights (5, 10, 12 pounds) so you can vary your workouts.

First of all, warm up before getting started-this helps to prevent injuries. So start with a few minutes of stretching, particularly focusing on stretching the muscles in your arms. Do this for 3 to 5 minutes. You also might want to walk or jog in place for a few minutes to get your blood pumping.

Dumbbell Exercises for Women to Tone Arms Here are some exercises you can do:

  • Seated bicep curl: This is basically the same exercise as above, but performed this time sitting down. Again, keep your elbows close to your side, then curl the dumbbell up towards your shoulder (palm facing the shoulder), pause and contract. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat with the other arm. Do the same amount of repetitions and sets as the previous exercise. Variations: curl both arms at the same time or do hammer curls as described above.

    Alternating Bicep Curl

  • Standing alternating bicep curl: Stand as you did in the warm up, but this time do it holding dumbbells in your hands. Keeping your elbows close to your body, slowly curl one dumbbell up towards your shoulder. Your palm should be facing your shoulder. When the dumbbell is almost touching your shoulder, pause, contract your bicep for a moment before returning to the starting position (keep your back straight and don't swing the weight). Repeat the exercise using the other arm. Do 3 sets of 10-12 repetitions for each arm with a 30-second rest between sets. Variations: curl both arms at the same time. You can also vary this exercise by doing hammer curls. Here, you start in the same position as before but instead of turning your palm up to face your shoulder as you curl up, keep your palm facing inward, stopping to pause and contract when your lower arm is just about parallel to the floor.

Dumbbell Exercises for Women to Tone Arms

  • Standing overhead triceps extension: Holding a (lightweight) dumbbell in your hand, raise your arm straight up over your head, towards the ceiling. Keeping your upper arm in place, bend at the elbow bringing the weight slowly down towards the back of your head (be careful not to hit yourself in the head) until you feel a tight "stretch" in your tricep. Contract the tricep and slowly return to the starting position. Do 10-12 repetitions and then switch arms. Do 3 sets of 10-12 repetitions. Variation: You can also do this exercise while seated.

    Lying dumbbell extensions

  • Lying dumbbell extensions: Lying flat (on a mat or bench), raise your arms vertically up toward the ceiling. Keep your upper arms vertical, slowly lower the dumbbells toward the space behind your head until you feel a tight stretch. Pause, contract, return to the starting position and repeat. Variation: Alternate one arm at a time.

Mix these exercises up, be creative and add in some of your own and vary your routine. As fitness level, skills and abilities improve, you should increase the intensity of the workout by mixing in some aerobics, adding a little more weight, adding other dumbbell exercises (not specifically for the arms but for the whole body), decreasing rest time between sets or increasing the number of repetitions and/or sets.

If you do this for 20-30 minutes a day three or four times a week and stick with it, you will be amazed with the results. Not only will your arms be more toned, but you'll be stronger, healthier and will probably notice that you feel a lot better too.

Connective Tissue Training and Development

Never over look connective tissue development. It is a real weak spot for steroid users and most other athletes/people who traine etc who develop there muscular system faster than their connective tissue, resulting in bicep tears etc.

It's the simple short answer to 'how come a skinny, wiry guy can beat a meat head at lifting'

'I am of the opinion that joints need to be trained in a like manner to how
we train our muscular system, but with recovery and adaptive periods that
reflect their specific recovery periods.'

Bones, and connective tissue have low to no blood supply and their growth,
and recovery are slower than the muscle tissues.

So the task is to find the correct loading to the cycles of compression and
decompression (and other stress types) that will produce a conditioning
effect to those tissues without "overtraining". It is as simple as training
the musculature, but also complex, due to the fact that you are dealing with
two critical variables:

1)Present Condition and the level of load that will be required to produce
positive adaptation

2)Age and the amount of recovery required between loading bouts.

Obviously this is significantly different than training the muscles even
though we use essentially the SAME exercise actions.

As well we generally have 3 main tissues to be aware of:

1)Bones which need general heavy load stresses to gain or retain
mineralization

2)Ligaments which require regular stresses to reduce age related stiffness

3) Cartilages which require appropriate cyclic compression and decompression
to facilitate synovium saturations and hydrations

Certain sports that take a toll on joints and connective tissues, so it might be wise to keep these elements in
mind.

Ensure you take training connective tissue as seriously as muscular training to ensure less injury.

Good examples of strengthening connective tissue through bodybuilding and weight training is the use of isometric and static movements, such as isometric bench press, partial squats (to name a few) using heavy loads and low reps. Also to be considered are plyometrics. As with all forms of training these things need to be developed slowly and sensibly. Don't just go out to try and develop your tendons work new movements in gradually and increase the load over time.

Great Abdominal Exercise
by Terrence Wilke

Just thought you might want to consider an easier way I found to build
abs. I am 55 years old, and have better abs than most in their 20's.
I am an ex-marine, and when in the service over 30 years ago, I was
surprised at how many large-bellied older marines could do lots of
sit-ups, but - well it was obvious those sit-ups weren't doing them
much good. We were often required to aim to complete 80 bent-knee
sit-ups in two minutes. I always met that requirement, but my abs
never were noticeable at all either. Fast forward to 2010.
